The questions listed below are the most frequently asked questions about our services. Should you have any questions that are not answered, please contact us.
What services do you offer?
We offer elective 2D, 3D and 4D prenatal ultrasounds to expectant mothers who are currently under prenatal care and have undergone their second trimester diagnostic ultrasound. We make no exceptions and hold ourselves to an extremely high standard of care. Does this take the place of a diagnostic sonogram?
No. Women seeking an ultrasound with Precious Previews Ultrasound must already be receiving prenatal care from a healthcare provider and have already undergone a complete diagnostic ultrasound to confirm their due date, screen for fetal anomalies, and to look for any other pregnancy related issues. At no time is this ultrasound to be used in place of prenatal care and/or a complete diagnostic ultrasound.
When is the best time ?
The "best time" depends on several factors, including gestational age, position of the baby, aminiotic fluid level, and others.
If, between 18-24 weeks, you want to know the gender of your baby and weren't able to do so during your sonogram with your health care provider, we offer two exclusive "Gender" packages. Although it is too soon to obtain clear facial images at this stage, we are able to determine gender with ease, capture fetal movement and view larger portions of your baby.
If your goal is to obtain the most vivid facial images possible, we recommend having your 3D/4D ultrasound performed between the 26th and 32nd week of the pregnancy. Fuller-figured women are encouraged to wait until at least 31-32 weeks, while petite-sized women should come in sooner.
What if the baby is not in an ideal position?
We recognize that expectant parents want the most vivid images of their baby and we do too! We will do everything to ensure this. however, various factors will determine the quality of the images including amniotic fluid level, position of the baby, tissue content, etc. If we are unable to capture images of your little one, we will invite you back at no additional charge.
Can I bring loved ones and children?
Absolutely! Loved ones, including children, are encouraged to attend your ultrasound. We can comfortably accomodate 5 guests, although we have had more! This is an unforgettable experience and one that will surely last a lifetime. Our seating is arranged in order that everyone will have an excellent view of your baby's images on two plasma screens situated around the room.
Does insurance cover the 4D ultrasound?
No, we are not aware of any health insurance carrier which covers the costs of elective prenatal ultrasounds, although some employer-funded FlexPlans will consider reimbursement. This is an elective service and not intended to replace the diagnostic ultrasound ordered by your physician, therefore, the cost of this ultrasound is an out-of- pocket expense.
Are there any risks to me, or my baby? Is it safe?
Extensive studies have found that ultrasound has not been shown to cause any harm to mother or baby. Sonograms of all pregnancies is normal protocol throughout the world. 3D/4D technology uses exactly the same type of ultrasound as used with conventional 2D scanning.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, Visa, MasterCard, gift and debit cards. We do not accept checks.
Do I need an appointment?
Yes, our services are offered by appointment only. Occasionally, we are able to accomodate same day appointments so don't hesitate to ask. Our facility is open Monday - Thursday from 10-7, and Friday and Saturday from 9-2.
