We capture the best images of your baby's face during the last trimester.  We recommend the ideal time to have a 3D/4D & 5D (HD Live) ultrasound performed is typically between 30-34 weeks, though we often capture vivid images until until 38 weeks.  (Fuller-figured women are encouraged to wait until at least 32 weeks.)  Many factors determine the clarity of the ultrasound which include your little one's gestational age, size and position, the location of placenta, body habitus, and more.  As your little one accumulates body fat, the characteristics develop which results in finer image detail.

FACT:   Ultrasound images improve as the baby gets bigger.  Having an ultrasound performed earlier in the pregnancy doesn't mean the baby has more space and it rarely produces "better" images.  More often, it's the opposite. As the baby grows and the uterus expands, the distance or space between the front and the back of the uterus increases, most often resulting in more viewing space than earlier in the pregnancy.  Additionally, as the baby accumulates fat, their characteristics begin to appear
